Everybody Dance Now!

Halle had her final dance recital Friday night.  It has been so much fun watching her this year. She loves to get all "dolled up" so she can preform on the stage.  We are so proud of her!  Now, we are looking forward to a summer of soccer and swimming, but we can't wait for dance to start again in the fall.

(This picture makes me laugh.  I wanted to get a picture of her class after their performance, but Halle was--in her words--"totally sick of pictures."  So, she decided to pout on the floor.)

Simple Miracles

About two weeks ago, I saw a bird had built a nest in our tree.  Since then, a momma bird has been perched on that nest.  Every morning, Halle and I run outside to see if the baby bird had come yet, but every morning the momma bird still sat there.  (I thought she looked bored.  It's a good thing I've never had to be on bed rest.  Watching that bird made me realize how miserable it would be staying in the same place day after day.)  Anyway, this morning Momma Bird was still on the nest, but this afternoon as I sat outside watching Halle and her friends jump on the trampoline, I noticed that Momma Bird had left.  In her place sat these two perfect little babies.  One is chubbier than the other.  So cute!

I think for the next few days, I am going to be outside in my back yard watching Momma Bird bring food to her babies.  I've grown attached to their little family.

Final Shows

This is, by far, one of my favorite weeks of the year because every night I get to plop myself in front of the t.v. to watch season finales.  And, while I'm still reeling from the conclusion of Desperate Housewives and 24, I get to focus my attention to tonight's Dancing with the Stars conclusion.  I think I secretly hope that Melissa wins, because I loved her on the Bachelor and she is a super good dancer.  Still though, I like Shawn Johnson, and Giles is a super cutie!  So, I'm mostly just interested to see who wins.

And, I decided last week that I like American Idol again.  I went through a 8-week fast-forward fest with the show, because I didn't like any of the contestants and I was a little bit sad because last season was so good.  But, now that it's the last week, I must say, I'm pretty excited.  I really hope that Kris pulls of the upset because he's just--let's get real--so cute.

What are your thoughts?  Who are you rootin' for?  Or, are you like me?  Secretly hoping that David Archeleta and David Cook come back for a rematch...

Happy Mother's Day!

I love being a mom!  It's the craziest, busiest, funniest, messiest, best job out there!  I never thought that I would like staying at home all day, but I feel so blessed that I get to watch my kids all day.  We had a fantastic Mother's Day, and I want to give a special I {heart} you! to all of the mom's out there.  I especially want to thank my mom & my mother-in-law for being fantastic examples for me.

Lastly, I want to give a big {smooch} to these two!  They make my life perfect!

And, for all of you Salina girls out there, check this out...
10 years later, and I'm still making Mother's Day flowers!  I made these with my Activity Day girls for their moms.  They looked so cute around the neighborhood.  So fun!

6 Months

Our little guy is 6 months today.  I can't believe how fast the time has gone.  He's already sitting up, rolling everywhere, army crawling, and putting anything and everything in his mouth.  He weighs 17 lbs., 6 oz and is 27 cm long.  He's our little "chunk of love."

Love you, Chase!
